Our church was founded in 1939 by a group of dedicated Christians who wanted to create a worship space closer to home in Yemassee. Since then, we have grown into a vibrant community that serves our members and our surrounding communities.
At Yemassee Baptist Church, we are committed to serving our community and sharing the love of Christ. We believe that everyone is welcome in our church, and we strive to create a safe and inclusive space for all people. Our goal is to seek and to save those which are lost, and to train up the saints in the ways to go and grow in the Word!
The Purpose of Yemassee Baptist Church is to be welcoming, visible, and serve in a loving and caring way to all in our church and community; and to set a Christ like example by being prayerfully devoted, faithful, and spiritually led by God.
We offer Sunday School classes for all ages. We have a nursery, children, and youth classes where the Bible is taught. We also offer a Co-Ed class where you can grow in the word as a couple, or maybe you would like to be a part of a women's bible study class. We also offer a senior adult class focused on the history of the Bible and the relevance to today.
We have a blended worship service including traditional hymns, we have loved for years; as well as incorporating contemporary music that we love hearing on our radios and singing along to. Pastor Heyward preaches out of the KJV bible and engages us in application of the Word in our daily walk with God!
We have children's church for ages 9 and under and a nursery for your birth to 3 year old kids.
We have a wonderful children's program that teaches our children about bible stories they can apply to the rest of their life. The children get a meal, and then they go to their class to learn stories from the Bible.
Our Adult time together in the sanctuary is devoted to prayer time and an in depth study into specific topics from the Bible throughout the year.
